The Italian cartoonist Guido Crepax's strip Valentina tells the exploits of the title heroine, a photographer and activist whose adventures walk a line between recognizable reality and dreamlike fantasy. Love, sex, and relationships are at the heart of her stories, with elements of horror also in abundance. Though Crepax himself did not create a Tarot deck in his lifetime, his own interests in the occult and esoterica informed his work so much that his art easily fits onto a Tarot deck.
