Black and White pictures have a special place for some people. The limited color pallet can create an intimacy with the viewer that adding color would just distract from. With this deck, the author of The Night Circus reinterprets the tarot with painted images that seem almost animated, often (perhaps unintentionally) evoking imagery of fantastic genre-bending silent movies. Beyond the black and white, there are various shades of grey; and that's where most querents find themselves.
